The Rolling Stones announced yesterday that they would release a “re-mastered, expanded, Super-Deluxe, Deluxe and Digital editions of Some Girls.” The album features classics like “Miss You” and “Beast of Burden” and is the band’s best-selling album to date.
The deluxe edition will include a photo session from Helmut Newton, an essay by <iRolling Stone writer Anthony DeCurtis and a “Beast of Burden/When the Whip Comes Down” 7” single, which features a cover that was originally banned. There will also be some unreleased tracks, which will be announced at a later date.
Some Girls was a big turning point for the band in the late ‘70s, when the punk rock movement had critics doubting the band’s relevance. The release of the album brought a new, younger audience to the group. It was also guitarist Ronnie Wood’s first full-length recording with the group.
