Sorkin and HBO Reach Deal Over Cable News Drama

Aaron Sorkin’s HBO project seems to have been in the works for almost a year, and updates about the drama came and went with very little progress. However, the show officially closed a deal with the network recently, and production should start soon.

The drama will be centered on a cable news show with the title of More As the Story Develops. Sorkin spent time researching cable news outlets at MSNBC and FOX News in preparation for the series and has been working on rewrites during contract negotiations.

The show will be produced by Scott Rudin, who is returning to television for only a second time (he previously produced the sitcom based off of Clueless). Sorkin has worked on three shows, including the four-time Emmy winner The West Wing.
