Spielberg To Direct <i>Robopocalypse</i> Film Adaptation

Steven Spielberg is set to direct the upcoming film adaptation of Robopocalypse. Robopocalypse is a best-selling 2011 novel written by Daniel H. Wilson, and in case you couldn’t tell from the title, the novel is said to have been based on scientific, real-world research on modern robotics and depicts a near-future setting where sentient robots seeking revenge are accidentally let loose.

According to Deadline, the film is set for release through Touchstone Pictures on July 3, 2013 and will be jointly financed by both DreamWorks and 20th Century Fox.
