This morning the Australian indie-pop collective Architecture in Helsinki announced the dates of their upcoming U.S. tour, which kicks off Nov. 2 in Los Angeles and will cross the nation (with one date in Mexico City) over the next 20 days.
The five-piece is touring in support of the streamlined, focused album Moment Bends, which was released in April of this year. According to a press release, this U.S. tour, along with a few early 2012 festival dates in Australia and New Zealand, will be “the last opportunity to see them for quite a while.”
In conjunction with the tour announcement, Architecture in Helsinki have also released a music video to “W.O.W,” a song from Moment Bends. To shoot the video, the band took some time off to return to Australia. There, they teamed up with a well-known pyrotechnician who allowed them to film a music video with his special animatronic dolphins — the same ones used in the 1990s movie Flipper.
Portions of the “W.O.W” video feature singer/guitarist Cameron Bird swimming gracefully with the mechanized dolphins, which can be viewed below along with Architecture in Helsinki’s upcoming shows.
