Darth Maul Return Set For Clone Wars
If anything good came out of The Phantom Menace it was the introduction of Darth Maul. Unfortunately, killing him off was one of the many mistakes made with Episode One. Maul was notable for wielding a double-edged lightsaber, sporting black and red tattoos and infamously getting sliced in half before falling down a never-ending shaft.
That was it. He was never heard from again, until now. The Sith Lord will be resurrected this spring on Cartoon Network’s animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Supervising director Dave Filoni stated that he was shocked when Star Wars creator George Lucas asked him to bring back the fallen dark Jedi.
Savage Opress, an antagonist introduced in the third season, will search for Darth Maul in the upcoming season. Maul will likely resurrect his rivalry with Obi-Wan Kenobi, which will be a driving force in the plot.
