Today Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto V is currently in the works through their website.
The Rockstar Games website has changed to nothing more than the logo for the fifth installment and a message at the bottom simply saying, “Trailer 11.02.11.”
With the game’s trailer to be released next Wednesday, rumors have been flying for quite some time. In February, Rockstar registered several new domains that sound like parodies from the series. Rockstar also put out a casting call for an interactive project known as “Rush.” It has since been believed that this was a code name for Grand Theft Auto V. The most common rumor has been that the newest installment will take place in Vinewood, the Grand Theft Auto world’s version of Hollywood. The area was featured in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Rockstar is only a few days from celebrating the 10th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III, the game that made Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto franchise what they are today.
