You can take a few deep breaths: It looks like everything’s going to be OK with Coachella for the next few years. Just a few days ago, we reported that the Coachella festival looked to be in some serious trouble, with the host city of Indio postponing signing a contract with the festival.
Mydesert.com reported that Indio’s City Council voted 4-0 Wednesday to sign a two-year agreement with Goldenvoice, the promoters behind Coachella. The festival will still be held at the Empire Polo Club.
The main concern behind the contract was environmental concerns, and the parties met a compromise with Goldenvoice agreeing to have a third party monitor air quality, traffic and noise.
You can read more about the agreement here.
