Javier Bardem terrified audiences with his Oscar-winning performance as Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men, but he has since played a series of romantic leads. Lucky for us, he has just revealed that the rumors swirling about him playing a villain in the upcoming James Bond film are in fact true.
“I am very excited, my parents took me to watch the movies, and I saw all of them, so to play that is going to be fun,” the Spanish actor told ABC’s Nightline. “They chose me to play this man, but I cannot give you many details.”
Bond 23 will star Daniel Craig as Agent 007 for the third time dating back to 2006’s Casino Royale and be directed by Bond-newcomer Sam Mendes. In addition to casting rumors, the new film has been linked to the title Carte Blanche, but Eon Productions denied this rumor and claims the film is yet to be titled.
