Limited Edition Beastie Boys Sneakers to Benefit Prop 8 Films

Beastie Boys have been kicking lyrics straight to our brains for 25 years, and they still know how to be creative. Now you can own a pair of limited edition Converse with never- before-seen photographs of the hip-hop trio.

The sneakers feature photos taken by Sunny Bak on the Boys’ 1986 License to Ill Tour. The right sneak features MCA climbing a marquee before a February show. The left sneak features Mike D and Ad-Rock holding a bottle of beer in a liquor store. The tongues on both have the signature of Sunny Bak in silver Sharpie.

Only a limited amount of sneakers will be made and are being sold for $200 on eBay. Prop 8 Films, a production company with the goal of creating socially conscious documentary films for a wide audience throughout the world, will receive 10 percent of the proceeds.

If you don’t need new shoes but want the photographs, prints are available at Hold Up Art in Los Angeles and can be ordered at their site.
