Members of The Doors Collaborate With Skrillex
The remaining members of The Doors are working with a super-unlikely collaborator. As Rolling Stone reports, dubstep producer Skrillex has teamed up with Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek and crew to write what Manzarek calls “the first new Doors track of the 21st century” for a documentary called RE:GENERATION.
“[Skrillex] plays his beat, all he had to do was play the one thing. I listened to it and I said, ‘Holy shit, that’s strong,’” Manzarek said in the article. “Basically, it’s a variation on ‘Milestones,’ by Miles Davis, and if I do say so myself, sounds fucking great, hot as hell.”
The project also includes other off-the-wall DJ/songwriter collaborations, including Pretty Lights working with Leann Rimes and Ralph Stanley, and the Crystal Method collaborating with Martha Reeves.
You can watch a preview of the project below.
