MTV Releases Archives of Liquid Television

MTV Releases Archives of Liquid Television

MTV’s Emmy Award-winning animation and live-action showcase Liquid Television stopped airing way back in 1994, but has maintained a grainy YouTube presence with diehard fans. Now the network has released the archives of Liquid TV onto the Internet, and the episodes are available for free streaming.

Those not familiar with the name of the program will surely recognize some of the most famous cartoons that got their start on the series. Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head and Milton/Office Space premiered on Liquid TV in 1992. Both became cultural phenomenons, and though they are the most famous export of the early 1990s show, they are not the only ones. Æon Flux helped kick off Liquid TV in June 1991 before turning into the 2005 Charlize Theron action film. Other notable segments were Cartoon Sushi, The Head, Art School Girls of Doom and The Specialists.
