According to BBC, Paul Simon announced yesterday that he would be reuniting his 1987 band and embarking a world tour in celebration of the 25th anniversary of his Graceland album next year. The Grammy-winning and chart-topping album featured an eclectic mix of world music cultures with most of the album having been recorded in South Africa.
Having just finished the world tour for his 10th studio album, So Beautiful or So What, the 69-year-old doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon. The band’s reunion tour will begin next year and include the South African vocal group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Along with the tour, a Graceland box set will be released which will include a documentary DVD about the making of the album.
