Smashing Pumpkins Announce Track Listings for Reissues

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has been more than generous to his fans this year. Most significantly, he founded the Smashing Pumpkins Record Club, which so far has unveiled four exclusive downloads of rare tracks from the vaults of The Smashing Pumpkins’ early days.

Now, in the midst of wrapping up the new album Oceania, Corgan is preparing to re-release the first two Smashing Pumpkins records, 1991’s Gish and 1993’s Siamese Dream, in newly remastered glory — and the deluxe editions of each will contain a second disc of mostly unreleased material.

Corgan announced the official track listings for the deluxe editions of Gish and Siamese Dream today on The Smashing Pumpkins’ website, with an additional mention of an exclusive rarity available to customers who pre-order the re-releases. The rarity in question is an instrumental home demo version of “Frail and Bedazzled,” an outtake from Siamese Dream originally released on Pisces Iscariot.

Furthering his nostalgic streak, Corgan included a brief message detailing what the Pumpkins’ first two albums mean to him. He refers to Gish as an expression of the band’s “naïveté and fresh spirits asking to be heard,” while he rightfully points to Siamese Dream as both the band’s watershed breakthrough and the beginning of its acrimony.
