Watch the Newest Trailer for Spielberg's War Horse

Yesterday a new trailer was released for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film War Horse. The movie is based on both the 1982 children’s novel by Michael Morpurgo and the 2007 stage adaptation of the same name. Despite directing six films set in or around WWII and producing two others, this is Spielberg’s first film focusing on the first World War.

The film stars Jeremy Irvine as Albert Narracott, a young man from Devon whose horse Joey is sold to the cavalry at the outbreak of World War I. Joey ends up on his own odyssey through the battlefields of the Great War, finding himself used by both sides and impacting a range of people. Too young to enlist, Albert goes on a journey of his own to find his horse.

The cast includes more than a few noted theater actors including David Thewlis and Benedict Cumberbatch, as well as noted English actress Emily Watson. The film is set for release in the US later this year on Christmas Day. Check out the newest trailer below.
