YouTube is set to launch their “new original channels” this month, which include some big names in the online world of the entertainment and arts industries. Although it’s not entirely clear how these channels will differ from normal channels on YouTube yet, it’s apparent that YouTube and Google will be working with these specific channels to create consistent, well-developed videos.
A press release from Google states that “Today we’re announcing that even more talented creators and original entertainment will soon join YouTube’s existing channel lineup, including channels created by well-known personalities and content producers from the TV, film, music, news, and sports fields, as well as some of the most innovative up-and-coming media companies in the world and some of YouTube’s own existing partners.”
Standouts from the list include Pitchfork.TV, Slate, The Onion, Machinima, IGN, TED Conferences, and The Wall Street Journal. Check out the full list over at Deadline.
