Cabin Fever Receiving Two Prequels

Cabin Fever Receiving Two Prequels

Eli Roth’s first film Cabin Fever, an homage to ’80s horror films, will soon be getting two prequels.

The 2002 film already received a direct-to-video sequel Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever. The two prequels will be shooting back-to-back early next year.

The first, Cabin Fever: Patient Zero is about a cruise ship that hits a research boat in the ocean that has been abandoned. The research vessel had a virus on it, which now the people on the cruise ship must escape before they become infected. Jake Wade Wall, who wrote the horror remakes of When A Stranger Calls and The Hitcher, will write the film.

The second film, called Cabin Fever: Outbreak, will feature a doctor that goes to an island with his family to do research on a type of flu. While there, they also find a virus and must try to leave the island without also getting infected with the virus. Deborah and Adam Marcus, who wrote Jason Goes To Hell, will write the second prequel.

As of right now, Eli Roth will have no connection to the two films.
