While Spike Lee’s retelling of the popular 2003 South Korean film Oldboy has been met with worry and fear over ruining what made the original so great, Lee is at the very least filling his cast with some great talent. Lee has already cast Josh Brolin as the lead character and is now offering the role of the film’s villain to Colin Firth.
The Academy Award-winning Firth would play a man who traps Brolin for 15 years without telling him why, then releases him for five days to seek his revenge.
The film was originally being worked on by Steven Spielberg, with Will Smith starring, but the two backed away from the project.
