It turns out that Lou Reed and Metallica are dragging another respectable name into the mess that is Lulu. Darren Aronofsky, the Oscar-nominated director of films like Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream and The Wrestler, will direct a video for “Iced Honey,” one of the album’s least-offensive tracks.
The Associated Press reported the news today in an article where Reed says that he’s hoping for the video to be “his Black Swan.” Aronofsky will shoot the film with his long-time cameraman, Matthew Libatique, who will be the project’s director of photography. Ulrich was also quoted, saying that working with Reed and Aronofsky is “living the dream.”
As with anything having to do with Lulu, we’ll see.
