Franz Ferdinand Plan 2012 Comeback
Franz Ferdinand told NME recently that they were planning a 2012 comeback. After delivering huge hits such as “Take Me Out” and “Do You Want To,” the Scottish rockers have been almost completely silent in the past couple years.
Back in 2010, lead singer Alex Kapranos announced to BBC 6 Music that they had indeed begun working on a new album, but that they were going to be tight-lipped on it: “Before the last record, I talked far too much about it as we had the ideas and I made a vow that I wasn’t going to say anything about what we are actually doing until we’ve done it, and then wait about another three weeks.”
The band has held to that promise, as very little information has been getting out about the band’s next step. Fortunately, guitarist Nick McCarthy (who has himself started multiple side projects) confirmed that the band is planning “a comeback in 2012.” Our guess would be both a new album and a tour announcement, but nothing is official as of yet. All we know for sure is that you’ll definitely be hearing more from Franz Ferdinand in the near future.
