My Morning Jacket to Appear on <i>The Vampire Diaries</i> Tonight

It sounds like Jim James and crew will learn a thing or two about “Evil Urges” tonight. As shown in a preview for the show, My Morning Jacket will be making an appearance tonight on the CW’s vampire drama The Vampire Diaries.

According to MTV.com’s Hollywood Crush blog, the show pulled a few strings to get the rockers on the show.

“It was cool having them on, it was nice. I overhead that it was planned for a few episodes—trying to get them on,” actor Michael Trevino said about the appearance. “We’ve never had any special musical guests on the show. I was speaking with one of the writers and they were saying we were only going to do it if it made sense. And it made sense to have My Morning Jacket playing in the backyard of the Lockwood mansion.”

Rolling Stone posted a photo today of the cast hanging out with the Louisville, Kent., band, whose facial expressions make you wonder about the whole situation. You can see a short preview of the show below.
