NBC continues its quest to find the perfect shows for next season by ordering a pilot for a comedy and buying a drama. This marks yet another set of shows on an already expanding list of potential shows ranging from vehicles for comedians like Dane Cook and Sarah Silverman to shows taking place in the White House or the United Nations. And those are just the comedies.
The comedy is a single camera family pilot named Isabel. The network bought a spec-script from Howard Busgang and Tom Nursall about a family with magical powers. It is inspired by the French-Canadian series Le Monde De Charlotte and centers on a middle-class family that is anything but normal.
Though not a lot of information is out right now, the Peacock has purchased a drama from Northern Exposure and St. Elsewhere co-creator Joshua Brand and Peter Horton. The show will center on an estranged couple who reunite under less-than-ideal circumstances.
