Second Dark Knight Rises Trailer to Screen Before Sherlock Holmes 2?

According to Batman On Film, they’ve been “unofficially” told that a longer official trailer for Batman: The Dark Knight Rises will screen in the previews for the upcoming Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

Previously it was announced that a six-minute prologue of The Dark Knight Rises would screen before IMAX showings of the Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol advance and normal release, and considering the Sherlock Holmes sequel comes out on the same day, it appears the marketing machine behind the film is employing the same tactic used for the release of The Dark Knight, where the opening sequence of the film was shown in IMAX theaters the same day that the second, much larger trailer for that film also debuted (December 14, 2007).

The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled for release summer of next year on July 20, 2012.
