Showtime's Under the Dome Adaptation Finds Writer
Last September we announced that Stephen King’s epic Under the Dome was being adapted for Showtime. Now the Dreamworks-produced drama has found a writer to adapt the 1,000-plus page book.
Deadline reports that Lost writer Brian K. Vaughan will turn the supernatural thriller about a town in Maine that is cut off from society when a mysterious force field encompasses it into a shootable pilot script.
Though the rights were purchased for the novel immediately after its release in 2009, an adaptation wasn’t announced until late last August, when Showtime began searching for a suitable writer. Vaughan is a logical choice after writing on Lost for three seasons and writing multiple comic book series.
