The Black Keys, Steve Buscemi to Appear on SNL

Today Rolling Stone reported that on Dec. 6, The Black Keys will perform on Saturday Night Live to support their new album El Camino, which will be officially released on the very same day. Boardwalk Empire star Steve Buscemi will host the episode.

This episode of SNL will be both The Black Keys’ and Steve Buscemi’s second appearances on the long-running sketch comedy. It marks Buscemi’s first appearance in over 13 years: He last hosted the show in an episode from 1998 that included a performance by Third Eye Blind.

The Black Keys, however, performed on SNL as recently as Jan. 8 of this year in support of their 2010 smash Brothers. The upcoming appearance will make them one of the few bands to appear on the show more than once in the same year — a distinction shared with only six other artists, including Beck, Paul Simon, The Blues Brothers and Taylor Swift.
