The Walkmen Announce New Album, Anniversary Tour

The Walkmen have announced today that they are currently working on a new album and that they will be touring next year.

The follow-up to last year’s Lisbon is planned to be released summer 2012 on Fat Possum/Bella Union. Phil Ek, who has worked with Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses and The Shins, will start working with The Walkmen in a few weeks.

The Walkmen will also be touring next year in a set of shows to commemorate the band’s 10th anniversary. The group is also now accepting pre-orders for the first vinyl pressing of their debut album Everyone Who Pretended to Be Like Me Is Gone.

The Walkmen 10th Anniversary shows:

January
14 — Chicago, Ill. @ Metro (Tomorrow Never Knows festival)
20-21 — San Francisco, Calif. @ The Independent
