Toy Story, Tangled Shorts Coming Before Disney Films
After Pixar made the pre-film short an experience almost as exciting as the film the audience was getting ready to watch, Disney has decided to start making shorts based on some of their popular franchises to put before their new films.
Small Fry, which will be shown before The Muppets, follows a new, smaller, Happy Meal version of Buzz Lightyear that comes from a fast food restaurant. The smaller Buzz kidnaps the normal sized Buzz to take over his life. A new clip shows that there will also be a group of other fast food toys that have a support group, led by a mermaid toy voiced by Jane Lynch. Angus MacLane, who has been an animator on a majority of Pixar’s films and many of their short films, is directing Small Fry.
Hot off the success of their 3D re-release of The Lion King, Disney will be releasing Beauty and the Beast in 3D on January 13, 2012. Before the film will be Tangled Ever After, a follow-up to Disney’s popular Tangled. The film will focus on the chameleon and horse duo Pascal and Maximus as they go searching for the wedding ring they’ve lost before the wedding of Rapunzel and fiance Flynn. Tangled Ever After will be directed Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, who also directed the original film.
