Animal Collective is at work on a new album, a follow-up to 2009’s critically acclaimed Merriweather Post Pavilion, Pitchfork points out.
In an interview with Madison.com, vocalist Avey Tare, also known as David Portner, confirmed that the electronic-heavy group has about five songs that they’re ready to start recording in January.
“We just finished another two weeks of writing sessions and put together five new songs,” Tare said in the interview. “We’re really excited about this record and it’s been really fun jamming with those guys again.”
