Damien Jurado Releases Single, Christmas Song

It’s a good day for Damien Jurado fans. The songwriter released not only a new single, titled “Nothing is the News,” but also a holiday-inspired Christmas track, Hit Fix points out. The single is a part of his upcoming album, Marqopa, which is set for a Feb. 21 release. It is a collaboration with producer Richard Swift and was recorded in Swift’s National Freedom studio.

The Christmas track is “Christmas Time is Here,” and is a slow take on the Vince Guaraldi original. Jurado gets some help from the Aki Kurose Middle School Academy Glee Club for backing vocals, and the track also includes a trumpet solo.
