Madonna Will Play Super Bowl Halftime Show

CNN confirms that Madonna will play this year’s Super Bowl halftime show with Cirque du Soleil performers. The show will take place on Feb. 5 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and is expected to be one of the year’s most watched shows. While the performance wouldn’t be in support of a new album for Madonna, it has been rumored that the pop star will release new material next spring.

Most recently, the Black Eyed Peas and Usher performed at the Super Bowl, but in the past it has included performances from acts like Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones and Prince.
