See the First Image of Daniel Day-Lewis With His Lincoln Beard

Spielberg’s long in development film Lincoln is finally shooting in Richmond, Va., and a local has taken the first picture of star Daniel Day-Lewis sporting his Lincoln beard for the title role.

Lincoln will take place in the months leading up to the president’s death. The cast boasts an incredible lineup of actors including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Sally Field, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael Stuhlbarg, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson and Hal Holbrook. Also earlier this week, Mad Men’s Jared Harris, a British actor, signed on to play Ulysses S. Grant.

Even though Day-Lewis is dressed in current clothes, the actor bears a remarkable likeness to Lincoln. Lincoln is slated to be released in 2012, after a huge 2011 for Spielberg, where he directed two films, The Adventures of Tintin and The War Horse, both coming out in December.
