Stephen Daldry Wants <i>Kavalier & Clay</i> To Be HBO Miniseries

It’s been over a decade since Michael Chabon released his Pulitzer Prize-winning book The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, and for almost as many years, a film adaptation has been in the works. Now, director Stephen Daldry has expressed interest in the live adaptation, but it’s a bit different that the film version that was expected.

Daldry, who has directed The Reader and the upcoming Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, stated that he would rather turn Kavalier & Clay into a miniseries on HBO. He says that he envisions it as an eight-part series.

Chabon currently has another project with HBO in the works, entitled Hobgoblin, which he is working on with his wife Ayelet Waldman and Darren Aronofsky.

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay is the story of two Jewish comic book creators in the 1930s and 1940s as they create the hero The Escapist.
