Stone Roses Sign Album Deals With Universal, Columbia
NME reported that The Stone Roses have signed two record deals. The announcement comes from their Facebook page, and it was announced on Dec. 10. The deal comes from Universal Records, which signed the band for U.K. and worldwide releases, and Columbia, which contracted the band in the U.S.
The announcement was simple, stating, “The Stone Roses are pleased to announce that they have signed a record contract with Universal Music in London and with Columbia Records in New York.”
The announcement comes after the band revealed they would reunite to write new material and tour in 2012. It’s rumored that the band has been recording new songs during rehearsals for live shows. This will be the band’s first studio release since 1994’s “Second Coming.”
