After becoming the two highest grossing R-rated comedies of all time in America, it makes sense that the Hangover series would see a third installment.
The Hangover Part II, which made $254 million dollars in the US alone after it was released this summer, will be getting a follow-up, according to Bradley Cooper. Cooper said on The Graham Norton Show that he hopes the third and final film in the comedy trilogy would start shooting in September and that Todd Phillips, director of the first two films and co-writer of the second film, has already begun work on the third film’s script.
After adventures in Las Vegas and Bangkok, Cooper said, “I think it’ll take place in L.A. and not adhere to the structure.” Many critics complained that The Hangover II was basically a rehashing of the first film in a different locale. While no official word on script details or shooting time estimation has been given yet, with a series as successful as The Hangover, it’s hard to imagine they wouldn’t try to release a third as soon as possible.
