Watch The Trailer for HBO’s Apatow-Produced Girls
The combination of Lena Dunham and Judd Apatow for a new TV show makes a lot of sense. Dunham became one of the top up-and-coming comediennes with her breakthrough writing/directing/acting effort Tiny Furniture, and Apatow focused less on male-centered comedies by producing this summer’s hit comedy Bridesmaids. With Girls, the two have teamed up to create a new comedy for HBO.
The show features Dunham as Hannah, a 24-year-old in New York City struggling to get by, even though she believes she is a voice of her generation. Or a generation. Girls premieres in April on HBO.
