Arrested Development Writer Offers Update on Series

Years of rumors finally ended late last year when Mitch Hurwitz confirmed an Arrested Development film would actually be filmed sometime in the near future. Better yet, he also announced there would be a 10 episode series to help bridge the gap that will air exclusively on Netflix in 2013.

Since then, no new details have come out and the cast, though verbally committed, still hasn’t officially confirmed that they have contracts. Now Arrested writer Dean Lorey has taken to his blog to claim everything is right on track.

“We’re really doing this thing. Mitch Hurwitz, Jim Vallely and I are off writing the new season,” he wrote, “ The original cast is back. There are offices and parking spaces. We’re shooting this year.”

Lorey further went on to say that he wished he could reveal more details, but Hurwitz wants to play this one close to the chest and keep everything as much of a secret as he can.
