Listen to Yuck Side-Project Parakeet’s New Single

If Yuck’s self-titled debut album is any indication, bassist Mariko Doi’s side-project Parakeet is going to be equally grungy and great.

With just Doi on lead vocals and bass and James Llewellyn Thomas on drums, the lead single “Tomorrow” sounds a little harder edged than Yuck. The album artwork, however, is just as squiggly and full of naked people doodles.

Parakeet will self-release “Tomorrow” on March 5 as a 7” single and distribute 500 limited edition copies to stores in the United Kingdom, United States and Japan. Additionally, the “Tomorrow” 7” will be available through Parakeet and Yuck’s webstores.

The band is aiming for a late spring/early summer release for its full-length album, but in the meantime, stream and download “Tomorrow” below and visit Parakeet’s new Twitter page and Bandcamp for more updates soon.
