Mark Lanegan Band Announces New Album, Tour

Having fronted the grunge band Screaming Trees, worked with Queens of the Stone Age, formed the super-duo Gutter Twins with Afghan Whigs’ Greg Dulli and collaborated with former Belle & Sebastian songstress Isobel Campbell, singer Mark Lanegan is back to contributing his distinctive, gravelly vocals to another project—his own.

Blues Funeral, his first solo album since 2004’s Bubblegum, drops Feb. 6 and leads off with the single “The Gravedigger’s Song.” Recorded in Hollywood, the 12-track LP will be released via 4AD and feature appearances from Dulli, Jack Irons and Josh Homme.

To coincide with the release of Blues Funeral, the Mark Lanegan Band will play one show on each coast before heading to Europe for a three-month tour.

In the meantime, stream or download “The Gravedigger’s Song” over at Magnet and check out the Blues Funeral tracklisting and tour schedule below.
