M.I.A. Expected to Release New Song Monday

M.I.A. is slated to make a return next week with a new version of her song, “Bad Girls,” which originally appeared on her Vicki Leekx mix tape. The single was produced by Danja, who has worked with Timbaland, Madonna and Justin Timberlake. Pitchfork will be streaming the track on Jan. 30, and it will be released on Jan. 31. M.I.A.’s next album is expected to be released this summer.

There’s also a video for the song in the works, which will be directed by Romain Gavras. Gavras also directed M.I.A.’s ultra-violent “Born Free” video.
