Sigur Rós Announces Art Contest

Included in the limited special edition of the 2011 Sigur Rós film Inni was a pack of light sensitive paper sheets on which the band is encouraging fans to create their own original art. It’s been announced that the art is a part of a Sigur Rós merchandise competition. The public can vote on all submissions and the top images will be submitted to the band, who will choose the final winner.

The grand winner will receive an $815 prize as well as have their design used on a piece of Sigur Rós 2012 merchandise.

All submissions uploaded before Feb. 29 will be eligible for entry.

The band has been our radar lately. With Jónsi’s soundtrack for Cameron Crowe’s We Bought A Zoo and the anticipated 2012 Sigur Rós album, we are excited to see what else 2012 will bring for the band.
