Although legendary members such as Eric Clapton (1963), Jeff Beck (1965) and Jimmy Page (1966) will not be participating, members from the original lineup of The Yardbirds will embark on a short tour of the northeast next month.
The foundational 1960s blues-rock group will, however, include original drummer/composer Jim McCarty. Joining him will be a collection of new and experienced musicians including up-and-coming guitarist Ben King as well as British bassist Davis Smale and vocalist Andy Mitchell.
Unfortunately, co-founder and guitarist Chris Dreja will be unable to participate in this mini-tour due to recent illness.
Dreja hopes to rejoin the band later this year as The Yardbirds tour more extensively.
