Velvet Revolver Reunites for John O’Brien Tribute Show
On Jan. 12, artists of diverse backgrounds and genres will unite at the House of Blues in West Hollywood to pay tribute to the late John O’Brien. The award-winning ASCAP composer, who worked on films such as Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and Pineapple Express, was found dead in a Chicago hotel room on Aug. 20, 2011 at the age of 45.
The event, dubbed “Love You Madly: A Concert For John O’Brien" boasts an impressive, if not slightly confusing lineup including members of Maroon 5, Sheryl Crow, Tom Morello, The Forest Rangers, Curtis Stiegers, Chantal Kreviazuk, and Stephen Stills.
Most interesting, however, is that Scott Weiland will return to front Velvet Revolver for this one-off gig after the band’s nasty break-up in 2008. While no one is expecting a full reunion any time soon, all band members have apparently resolved their differences in time for this tribute show.
Tickets for “Love You Madly: A Concert For John O’Brien" range from $49.50 in advance to $55 on the day of show and can be purchased through Live Nation.
