Watch D'Angelo Return, Kick off European Tour

D’Angelo kicked off his first show in more than a decade tonight in Stockholm, Spin pointed out today. Tweets and reports from the show said that he played songs from Brown Sugar, Voodoo and unreleased tracks from what ?uestlove called “the black version of SMiLE,” the forthcoming James River. ?uestlove also said that James River is “97 percent done” in an interview with Pitchfork, which you can read here.

The website said the singer performed notably well for his first outing back, with tweets and reviews being overall positive ones. D’Angelo was accompanied by drummer Chris Dave and bassist Pino Palladino, who has played with The Who and Eric Clapton. Thanks to the internet, you can judge for yourself below.
