Back to the Future Might Become A Musical?

Nothing, it seems, is culturally holy anymore. As if Hollywood’s pillaging and stealing ideas from the book industry wasn’t bad enough, Broadway has recently taken its cue to rip stories from the film world (re: Shrek the Musical, Spiderman, Turn Off the Dark).

And in the latest twist of cultural transgressions, Robert Zemeckis’ 1985 classic Back To The Future might become a Broadway musical. The director has apparently been in discussions with his co-writer Bob Gale and the film’s composer Alan Silvestri, exploring the possibilities of a stage adaptation of the billion-dollar franchise. While nothing has been confirmed, we can only hope that they will leave greatness alone.
