Black Sabbath to Perform American Concert This Year?
Last November Black Sabbath announced both a reunion album and tour, but the subsequent three months have brought serious unforeseen hold-ups to the plans.
Tony Iommi was diagnosed with cancer, Bill Ward remains unconfirmed after a contract dispute, and the tour was canceled and replaced with the series “Ozzy & Friends.” There have been no new plans for a new reunion tour. What remains intact is Sabbath’s performance at U.K.’s Download Festival on June 10.
However, American fans shouldn’t fret just yet. Ozzy’s wife Sharon recently told VH1 Radio that Black Sabbath will in fact perform a single show in the U.S.
“They’re gonna be doing one show in America this summer but I can’t say yet because we can’t announce it… they are doing one show in August here together.”
In terms of recording, Sharon states, “[The sessions] are going good. They’re doing really well in the studio. Gosh, they must’ve written 15 new songs already and it’s going great.”
We’ll be on the look-out for more new information regarding the date and location of the performance.
