Blur to Headline Olympics' Closing Ceremony Concert

Blur revealed through their Facebook page that they would headline the Olympics’ Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert in London’s Hyde Park on Aug.12. The group, which has been rumored to tour this year, announced the appearance with this message:

“We’re rowing in.. going for gold.. grabbing the baton.. for the high jump.. No, hang on, is that right? Fact is, Blur have accepted the invite to headline the Olympics’ Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert in Hyde Park on 12th August.”

The Telegraph reported that the show will be accompanied by a BBC broadcast of the concert. New Order and The Specials will also perform at the event. Tickets for the show are set to go on sale Feb. 24. The group also tweeted a poster for the event, which is pictured below.

Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon also performed a new Blur song on Feb. 19 in London called “Under the Westway.” You can take a listen to the song here.
