Bradford Cox of Deerhunter Covers Leonard Cohen

We recently reported on the Cults and Cold War Kids covering their favorite Leonard Cohen tracks, and now Bradford Cox has followed with his own rendition of “Seems So Long Ago, Nancy.”

It’s been eight years since Cohen has released a solo album. To mark the release of Old Ideas Columbia Records has begun a cover series entitled Old Ideas With New Friends where new artists perform their favorite Cohen classics.

Check out the Vimeo channel from Columbia Records. It includes a cover by Greg Dull along with the Cults and Cold War Kids performances.

Listen to the Bradford track via Pitchfork.

In other Deerhunter news, the band released their single “Curve” yesterday.

The track appears on Blonde Redhead’s We Are the Works In Progress, a compilation album put together by the band as a benefit to Japan after the tsunami in 2011.
