NBC Picks Up Bryan Fuller's Hannibal TV Thriller

As previously reported Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal series looked like it would be picked up for a series order by NBC alongside Fuller’s Mockingbird Lane (a reboot of The Munsters) and now the network has made it official, according to Deadline.

The adaptation has received a 13-episode straight-to-series order, guaranteeing it a spot on NBC’s line up next fall. Hannibal will be a contemporary thriller based on Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon. The series will take place prior to the novel and re-introduce and explore the complex relationship between Will Graham and Dr. Hannibal Lecter.

Filming for Fuller’s Mockingbird Lane was pushed back to June after difficulties with casting arose. No word about casting or filming has been announced for Hannibal.
