Guillermo del Toro to Produce CG-Animated Day of the Dead
Variety reports that Guillermo del Toro, the director behind Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy, is set to produce an upcoming film titled Day of the Dead for Reel FX. The website said the film is a “Romeo and Juliet-style tale” that is set against a Mexican Day of the Dead celebration.
“This is a colorful, vibrant, vital fable that utilizes the animation medium in an incredible way,” del Toro told Variety.
Day of the Dead will be directed by Jorge R. Gutierrez, and is scheduled for a fall 2014 release date. Aaron Berger and Carina Schulze will produce the film alongside del Toro.
