M. Ward’s forthcoming album A Wasteland Companion has been on our radar, and today, the “him” of She & Him has released the album’s newest single, “Primitive Girl.”
The track can be heard on Spotify and purchased on iTunes now.
“Primitive Girl” features John Parish on percussion, Susan Sanchez on backing vocals and Mike Mogis on organ.
The 12-track album was recorded with the likes of 18 musicians, in eight studios across the US and one in the UK. It features the ever-familiar finger-picking and honey vocals Ward is known for.
We recently reported on the album’s first single, “The First Time I Ran Away.” You can stream the video here.
A Wasteland Companion will be available April 10 on Merge Records.
