The Kills released a B-side to their song called “The Last Goodbye” and it’s a song you might recognize. The track is a cover of the Velvet Underground’s “Pale Blue Eyes,” which appears on their 1969 self-titled album.
The duo’s take on the song is faithful enough with dirtier, bluesy guitars backing up frontwoman Alison Mosshart.
The Kills’ version of “Pale Blue Eyes” will appear on a 10” single for “The Last Goodbye,” released Feb. 21 via Domino. The special vinyl also includes two more covers-Marilyn Monroe’s “One Silver Dollar” and Patsy Cline’s “Crazy.” Plus, preorders come with a 16-page booklet titled “144 Polaroids From The Road” that features original, never-before-seen photography from the band.
